Well this was always going to be tough and secretly i hoped for 2 things, a goal from us, and less than 10 for then. With the incredible Hans Van Damme running midfield and distributing with style it was an uphill battle. After 2 minutes it was 1-0 thanks to a poor offside decision from Paul the ref, who in general had a very good game, and was particularly lenient on us. The goals came not as a flood but rather as a trickle. Every 10 minutes or so, they would knock one in. It was 4-0 by half time, and 3 of the goals were undefendable. Especially the 40 yard free kick from HVD himself that lobbed Hugo on his line. The scoreline suggests that we were playing badly, but that was not the case at all. If we had been playing badly it could easily have been 10 by half time. Midfield in particular played some of the best football ive seen from them, Mickey was his usual snarling aggressive self and Victor Maquina got my vote as MOM. In the end though it was our lack of creativity that let us down, and the inability to keep the ball for any length of time. Poor first touches allowed Manchester to control the game, and we never really got any really clear chances on goal apart from Nicks 25 yard shot that their keeper managed to get away with a great save. All in all you put these down to experience. Barna City next week, and a good showing will get us the 3 points we need.
