6-1 loss to Metropolitan

Well it wasn´t a very happy new year for the MC FC as we all turned up fat, slow and off the pace after xmas. The full team were available too which adds to the disgrace.

Things were certainly not helped by Cedric´s sending off after 5 minutes for slapping one of their players after being pushed, all handbags really but we were screwed thereafter.

I won´t go into the goals in detail as it was pretty much one way traffic after the sending off. Our fullbacks didn´t get into their strides at all and were constantly out of position meaning that their attackers were in and behind us all the time. Samuel, then Brendan tried gamely to lead from the front as lone attackers, but they saw so little of the ball it was a waste of time. The few times that we created anything was through long balls to the forward.

One thing to take from this was that we need stability, positional sense is so important, and we lost it completely. 2 weeks off before the next match, we badly need training and friendlies to get back up to speed.
